Marketing Genocide

Pepsi isn't the only one in the niche marketing game. Planned Parenthood (PP), the largest abortion provider in America, has been at it since the early 1900s.
PP founder and eugenist, Margaret Sanger, was a lot less subtle about revealing her real agenda when she said, "Colored people are like weeds and are to be exterminated." (blackgenocide.org for more stats).
With 78% of Planned Parenthood clinics located in minority communities and with 35% of abortions being performed on Blacks it would seem that her racist "niche marketing" is succeeding.
So it should come as no surprise that Planned Parenthood now stands to gain a market share with the lifting the Mexico City Policy, which allows federal funds to promote overseas abortions. Hispanic is the new black. Ay caramba!
Cardinal Nicolas Lopez Rodriguez of Santo Domingo recently said that Obama's decision would have "dramatic consequences" for the Dominican Republic because, "in our country there are many institutions dedicated to the promoting of abortion and killing children that will now receive American dollars" (EWTNews)
In other words, President Obama, we don't want your stinking money!

Niche Marketing

Soul. Hooray. Howdy. All aboard. Obama Cola signs as seen at L'Enfant Plaza metro station in D.C. during March for Life week. So very progressive of Pepsi. Then again, they have a long history of niche marketing. In the 1940's PepsiCo president Walter Mack, "realized African-Americans were an untapped niche market and that Pepsi stood to gain market share by targeting its advertising directly towards them"(Wiki). Now Pepsi has found a new niche. Pepsi gave $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). HRC gave 2.3 million in an attempt to defeat Prop 8. Pepsi must really think that gay is the new black. Boycott Pepsi, all aboard!!

The End Does Not Justify the Means

The end does not justify the means; acting for a good purpose does not make the act good.
Ironic isn't it that the great Moral Theologian, Msgr. William B. Smith, passed away on Saturday, January 24th, the day before Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's idiotic defense of contraception on ABC's THIS WEEK. Too bad Nancy (Biden, Kmiec, et al) failed to pick up a copy of Humanae Vitae, Pope Paul VI's 1968 warning about the dangers of widespread contraceptive use.
Thankfully, another great Moral Theologian, Janet Smith, has summed (or is that summa-ed) everything up.
Widespread Use of Contraception Will Lead to...
1. Lowering of Morality
2. Disregard of women's well-being
3. Coercive use of contraceptive method by governments
4. Treating our bodies like machines
5. Increase in divorce
6. Less bonding and growth in virtue between married couples
7. Contraception facilitates adultery
8. Sexual involvement before marriage
9. Cohabitation
10. Increase in unwanted pregnancies and abortion.
(as predicted by Pope Paul VI in Humanae Vitae)

March for Life 2009 Pilgrimage ~ Thanksgiving

We are thankful for a successful 2009 March for Life pilgrimage. The weather was remarkably good (sunburn is always preferable to frostbite) and the gathering was large (Lifesite estimates 300,000), enthused, and full of young people.
While we continue to download our photos, check-out Mommylife's March for Life 2009 album (over 400 photos). Also, Walk for Life West Coast (30,000 attended) now has photo links too.

What the FOCA?!
We saw quite a few of these around.

Circle is complete

We walk the whole route, listened to some testimonies at the Supreme Court, tried to get in Rayburn Bldg for a reception, walked all the way back to 4th street the Rally site, and only NOW have the last of the marchers turned the corner on to Constitution Ave. and started the road up to SCOTUS.
UPDATED WITH PHOTO: Photo shows the long line of Pro-Lifers trying to get into the Rayburn Bldg where the Team Sarah meet-and-greet was going on Post-March.

Where are you?

Most overheard cellphone conversation at the Supreme Court: "I'm in front of the Suprme Court, where are you?"

And they march

The front of the line is just passing the National Gallery at 2:13. Crowds are lined all along the streets.

Baby it's warm outside

Don't think it's been this sunny and relatively warm since the March in 2002.

The speakers are good and zipping thru their speaking times. Kinda interesting. While it' freezing cold they speak longer.

The crowd is tremendous. Very moving sight to see. We'll post photos later.

The front on the March is being lined up in anticipation of the start.

Kids today

Don't recall EVER seeing so many college groups at the March.
UPDATE WITH PHOTO: And we don't ever recall seeing these January "Ice" Gators before. Welcome!

Here comes everybody

Walked to the back of the Rally which backs up to 7th st, looked up 7th and here comes a sea of humanity. The Verizon Center Mass has just let out.

Behold, we stand at the door and knock

Actually, we stood in the vestible. Then we moved through the throngs into the narthex. By the final prayer we made it all the way up to the last pew. Yup, it was standing room only (as usual) at the Vigil for Life at the National Shrine.

Late Night Edition

Smooth metro ride in to DC.

Strolled over to the White House. Watched the true believers walk where He walked during the Parade. Meanwile, the police were busy watching a gaggle of Code Pinkers doing their thing.

Carnies, carnies everywhere. U name it, they're selling it.

WWII Memorial in the afternoon sun.

More later.

Observations

-Lots young men mugging in front of the life-sized Obama poster at the Inauguration Shop at Reagan National. -Spikey, silver, short-haired woman with rhinestone "peace" sign pin. -Loads of black fedoras for the men -Animal print for the ladies is all the rage on the outbound flights. -Winter hats. I hate them, but old age and bitter cold makes one think twice about things we once scorned.

And so it begins

Let the Pilgrimage penance begin. That means you, Hacking Cough in 7C and you Miss Stinky Perfume.

As you can tell we're not on the bus...it's worse.... Hartsfield Intl.

Random notes: Good to see Mother Angelic and Mother Teresa in the Inspirational bookrack at the gift shop.

Widows of Eastwick? I thought John Updike was dead. Whatever.

Hope Springs Eternal

The Vodkapundit, Stephen Green of  Pajamas Media, had it about right today when he wrote:
"10:25 AM This is an interesting speech. Maybe even a revealing one. Obama sounds the most liberal on issues where he's least likely to do anything, such as finding something to replace oil all of a sudden. And on fake issues, like "world peace" and "free hugs for poor people in foreign lands" or whatever. He sounds the most conservative, sometimes even neoconnish, on issues of substance. Let's hope he governs like he speaks."

Blogging so you don't have to

Was gonna call this post Not So Live Blogging but that didn’t sound appropriate.
As we have already explained, it’s a Mac vs PC world and, well, we’re traveling light. Just a matter of convenience... isn’t that always the excuse given? We have our money on the iPhone but may the best hardware win...er, survive the cold. Anyhow, look for the full MARCH FOR LIFE Pilgrimage 2009 photos debriefing at OogedyBoogedy.com.

Welcome and stick around awhile

Just a few days until the main event in Washington, DC, the Annual March for Life Pilgrimage 2009.
Stay tuned for photos and such. We'll keep you posted whenever we can get somewhere warm and indoors.
Meanwhile, learn more at the Marching, Fighting and Clinging headquarters oogedyboogedy.com

Get on the bus

Acts 2:38 A woman had just returned to her home from an evening of church services, when she was startled by an intruder. She caught the manin the act of robbing her home of its valuables and yelled: 'Stop! Acts 2:38!' (Repent and be Baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins may be forgiven.) The burglar stopped in his tracks. The woman calmly called thepolice and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar: 'Why did you just stand there? All the old lady did was yell a scripture verse number at you.'' Scripture?' replied the burglar. " I thought she said she had an Ax and Two 38s!'
Yuk, yuk. Apologies to all. A little levity forwarded to us from a fellow Oogedy Boogler to brighten the hours before getting on the bus. Charity to one’s fellow March for Life bus seat neighbor is always part and parcel of the January 22nd Pilgrimage Challenge (as if being in DC with all the Obama-tourists isn’t going to be enough of an ol’ heroic virtue challenge). So pack your Bible, your copy of Milton Berle’s Private Joke File, and some earplugs for those two behind you who won’t stop talking....and get on the bus already. For those of you who will be foregoing the journey to DC or San Francisco, check out the TV viewing links at the MARCH page.

Clothing Line for Kids with T21

Hat tip to Cause of Our Joy which has just posted a link to It’ll Fit’ll (It Will Fit Well), which will feature a clothing line specifically sized to fit kids with Down. http://downsyndromeclothes.blogspot.com/2007_02_18_archive.html

Gentlemen start your engines

And ladies too. Today marks the start of 9 days of prayer and fasting to ward off that voodoo known as FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act). Nine days end on January 22nd, our National Day of Prayer and Penance for Life. Also, time to start getting out those marching boots, gloves and scarves. Looks like D.C is planning on being chilly as usual. Rally for Life starts at noon sharp. Onward soldiers.
