O King and Lawgiver, O Emmanuel

O Emmanuel: “O Emmanuel, king and lawgiver, desire of the nations, Savior of all people, come and set us free, Lord our God.” Isaiah had prophesied, “The Lord himself will give you this sign: the Virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel.”
Last day of the O Antiphons.

King and lawgiver, desire of the nations, Savior of all people, come and set us free.

Unfortunately, many people chose Obama and Obamacare as their savior.
One writer, Justin Binik-Thomas, discusses how under Obamacare his daughter will be denied optimal medical treatment. This will be true for many, many children and adults in the Obamacare future.

The article here at PJMedia. And a follow up interview here

O King of Nations, O Rex Gentium

O Rex Gentium: “O King of all the nations, the only joy of every human heart; O Keystone of the mighty arch of man, come and save the creature you fashioned from the dust.” Isaiah had prophesied, “For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace.” (9:5), and “He shall judge between the nations, and impose terms on many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.” (2:4) .
O Antiphons here.

Come and save the creature you fashioned from the dust.

Over the Counter Oral Contraceptives are BAD for Women’s Health

Many doctors have noted increasing numbers of young women in their practice with breast and cervical cancers attributable to oral contraceptives. Much of the data on OCPs note that women who take the pill before their first full term pregnancy have increased rates of breast cancer later in life. It is also well known that OCPs promote the cancer-causing effects of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) which is a sexually transmitted disease that causes cervical cancer.

O Radiant Dawn, O Oriens

O Oriens: “O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come, shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death.” Isaiah had prophesied, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shown.” (9:1).
More about O Antiphons here.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light..and it is this, children are the future!
Russia's new 3 Child Policy. Snippet:

Putin took the occasion of his annual State of the Nation address to issue a call for more children. “The three child family should become the norm in Russia,” he declared. Since the average Russian woman has only one child, this would mean a considerable increase in fertility. Along with encouraging Russian women to have more children, he said, Russia must also look for ways to support and help them once they have had the children.

O Key of David, O Clavis David

O Antiphons continued.
O Clavis David: “O Key of David, O royal Power of Israel controlling at your will the gate of Heaven: Come, break down the prison walls of death for those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death; and lead your captive people into freedom.” Isaiah had prophesied, AI will place the Key of the House of David on His shoulder; when he opens, no one will shut, when he shuts, no one will open.” (22:22), and “His dominion is vast and forever peaceful, from David’s throne, and over His kingdom, which he confirms and sustains by judgment and justice, both now and forever.” (9:6)

The shadow of death by so-called Mercy Killing is descending on Belgium and France.
Son of David, save us.

Mercy Killing Madness in Belgium which looks to kill, er euthanize, minors and those who suffer from alzheimers.

Meanwhile in France, they want to "accelerate" death. Ah, those Death Panels, always looking for ways to save money.

O Root of Jesse, O Radix Jesse

O Antiphons, 3rd day.
“O Flower of Jesse’s stem, you have been raised up as a sign for all peoples; kings stand silent in your presence; the nations bow down in worship before you. Come, let nothing keep you from coming to our aid.”
Come to our aid! In so many places we are finally down to one. Let's have none.

Down to one abortion clinic in...
New Orleans, LA

Birmingham, AL

Mississippi... and it may soon close says Katrina Trinko at NRO

In Mississippi, there’s only one abortion clinic remaining — and because of a law passed earlier this year that is designed to protect women’s health, it may soon close.
In April, Mississippi passed a law that requires doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges to a nearby hospital. However, at the one remaining abortion facility — Jackson Women’s Health Organization — there are three doctors, and only one has admitting privileges.

O Lord, O Adonai

Second day of the O Antiphons.

Archdiocese of New Orleans responds to Gov. Jindal's op-ed piece.
“The Archdiocese of New Orleans disagrees with Governor Jindal’s stance on this issue, as the use of birth control and contraceptives are against Catholic Church teaching,” Sarah Comiskey McDonald, communications director for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, told EWTN News Dec. 14.
Robert Tasman, associate director of the Louisiana Conference of Catholic Bishops, also echoed the archdiocese’s statement.

O Wisdom, O Sapientia

Some Rush wisdom for this first day of the "O"Antiphons:
I don't believe that you can have a culture, a society where over a million babies are aborted every year and not have a dwindling respect for the sanctity of life.  I don't think you can have a culture which talks about euthanasia, the Jack Kevorkian story that was big for a while, killing people later in life for the convenience of the living.  I just don't believe that a society which can so easily kill for the convenience of the living can do that without suffering some real consequences when it comes to the sanctity of life. -Rush Limbaugh Show, 17 December 2012.

Weekend Read: Gaudete Sunday Edition

Some things to ponder over the weekend. Some may lift your heart others may just make you, well, think some more about things. Anyhow, interesting ideas regarding the Culture Wars.

John Hayward pens "Buying into the Culture War" after reading Glenn Reynold's recent article, "Where big GOP bucks could matter" in the NY Post.

Hayward writes,
Politicizing culture sometimes seems repulsive or unfair to conservatives.  We need to get over that, because the other side does it every day, in countless ways.  Those low-information voters tend to be very high consumers of popular culture.  Sometimes it’s the only medium for effectively communicating with them.  Better to spend a hundred million dollars on that pursuit right now, than on a hundred TV ads they’ll ignore in the fall of 2016.
By the way, Prof. Reynolds (The Instapundit) suggests

Buy some women’s magazines. No, really. Or at least some women’s Web sites.
One of the groups with whom Romney did worst was female “low-information voters.” Those are women who don’t really follow politics, and vote based on a vague sense of who’s mean and who’s nice, who’s cool and who’s uncool.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal suggests in"The End of Birth-Control Politics" in the WSJ, Dec. 13, 2012, that selling contraceptives over-the-counter would poke a hole in the Obamacare birth control mandate and get both government and the insurance industry out of the Birth Control business. Interesting.

We think all of these articles illustrate that the Contraceptive Mentality has won (not that we weren't warned by Humanae Vitae) but now we have to try new ways to win this battle.

Ponder. And sign up to attend the March for Life in Washington, DC on January 25th.

Daycare Generation vs Childless Generation

Well, we've spoken about the Daycare Generation that pulled it's weight around during our last election, now we probably should turn our attention to the Childless Generation. The high degree of childlessness in America is currently surpassed by Germany. So let's take a look at the outcome:
To give you just one example, Germany has had a higher degree of childlessness than America, and for a longer time. In a 2006 survey of fertility aspirations, 23 percent of German men said that having no children was the ideal form of family life. Think about that for a moment. And now think about what it means for a civilization to have a quarter of its men not interested in having any children at all.
By the way, in case you missed it the outcome is this: end of western civilization as we know it. We're just saying. Read the whole thing here.

In Which We Explain the 2012 Election UPDATED

So here's what happened, this was the first time the Roe v. Wade Generation voted en masse.

The Daycare Generation has spoken and they want the Government to keep taking care of them.

The unaborted/survivor children* of single/divorced moms had their say.
Too simplistic an answer? Don't take our word for it....

Daycare Generation = Low Information Voters says The Hill:
"Low-information voters trend younger and are more likely to be unmarried."
Daycare Generation = Free Contraception Voters says The Washington Times:
"The mere hint that they might lose access to birth control appears to have been sufficient to frighten a majority of American women into Mr. Obama’s protective arms."
[Related items: Obama the One Who Will Save Women. And the sykrocketing Teen Lingerie market says Business Insider.]

Daycare Generation = Controlled by Education and Media Voters says Newt Gingrich:
"all of my career I’ve believed this is a center-right country and that essentially our job was to organize and communicate and we would win.  I believe now, because we have lost the entertainment world, the news media, and the academic world, this is, in a sense, at best a centrist country with a dominant left..."
"...in terms of people under 30, more people under 30 get news from The Daily Show and Colbert than get news from Fox.  Now, if you’re not in The Daily Show and Colbert you’re not even in their world."
Daycare Generation =  Yearning for Foster Families and Suppressed Masculinity Voters says Camille Paglia
"But middle-class white girls, told that every career is open to them and encouraged to excel at athletics, are faced with slacker white boys nagged by the PC thought police into suppressing their masculinity -- which gets diverted instead into video games and the flourishing genre of online pornography." ....
"The emotional deficiencies in sanitized middle-class life have led to the blockbuster success of the fiveTwilight films as well as this year’s The Hunger Games. Their stars are nice white girls thrust into extreme situations and looking for strength. But the movies are set in abnormal environments of supernatural vampirism or dystopian survivalism. Romance is peculiarly intertwined with bloody atrocities and the yearning fabrication of foster families."...
"Middle-class white girls will never escape the cookie-cutter tyranny of their airless ghettos until the entertainment industry looks into its soul and starts giving them powerful models of mature womanliness."

* A word about the missing electorate in 2012. Where were all the voters, they keep asking?
We answer:
About one fourth of our generation has already been wiped out, and the executions continue at the rate of over 3000 a day. If you were born after that date [Jan. 22 1973], you are one of the unchosen. You are a Death Roe Survivor. - DeathRoe.com

Pro-Life Rally in Dublin

Ireland Pro-Lifers are standing up for the truth during the current media- manufactured abortion debate currently griping the country.
Over 10,000 gathered outside Ireland’s parliament this week to demand that Prime Minister Enda Kenny keep his campaign promise of 2011 not to bring legalized abortion into the Republic. The crowd included five Catholic bishops, and was organized by a united effort of all of Ireland’s pro-life organizations.

Sterile Nation

Let's sterilize the youngsters, says the US Government.

Chicago Tribune reports:
Wading into the incendiary subject of birth control for young teenagers, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on Monday called on the nation's pediatricians to counsel all of their adolescent patients about emergency contraception and make advance prescriptions for it available to girls under 17.
Greg Pfundstein in NRO writes in "It's All About Sex Not Health":
In summary, the American Academy of Pediatrics has endorsed a policy universally found to be useless for the purported purpose, namely decreasing teen pregnancy, and has taken the opportunity to sternly remind physicians of conscience of their moral duties to the cult of sexualityism.
Oh, and here's the Truth About the Morning After Pill  to tell you all about Plan B:

Remember, emergency contraception is a mega-dose of the regular birth control pill, one will find that the side effects of hormonal contraceptives include:
Head/Brain
  • Cerebral hemorrhage (bleeding into the cranial cavity)
  • Cerebral thrombosis (blood clot that drains blood from the brain)
  • Melasma, which may persist (skin discoloration; usually dark, irregular patches)
  • Migraine
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
Eyes
  • Retinal thrombosis (blockage of the central retinal vein that carries blood away from the eye)
  • Change in corneal curvature (steepening of the cornea)
Heart/Blood
  • Thrombophlebitis and venous thrombosis with or without embolism (blood clots in the veins)
  • Mesenteric thrombosis (blood clot in the major veins that drain blood from the intestine)
  • Hemorrhagic eruption (bleeding eruption)
  • Arterial thromboembolism (blood clots in the heart)
  • Pulmonary embolism (arterial blockage, usually from a blood clot, that cuts off one lung's blood supply)
  • Myocardial infarction (heart attack)
  • Budd-Chiari Syndrome (closing of the veins that carry deoxygenated blood from the lower half of the body into the heart)
  • Hemolytic uremic syndrome (kidney failure and low platelet count in the blood)

Time to rethink the 'Vegetative State" UPDATED

This from the BBC:

A Canadian man who was believed to have been in a vegetative state for more than a decade, has been able to tell scientists that he is not in any pain.
It's the first time an uncommunicative, severely brain-injured patient has been able to give answers clinically relevant to their care.
Scott Routley, 39, was asked questions while having his brain activity scanned in an fMRI machine.
His doctor says the discovery means medical textbooks will need rewriting.

UPDATE: Of course you noted this part..
"Scott Routley's parents say they always thought he was conscious and could communicate by lifting a thumb or moving his eyes."
Exactly like Terry Schivao's parents.

Personhood Amendment

What now my loves? Some young Pro-Lifers, like Jason Jones, think it's time to think outside the box. Roe v. Wade won't get overturned. However, personhood initiatives have "across the aisle" appeal.

John Zmirak at NCRegister has scoop where he quotes Jones:

“Now it’s clear we won’t have votes to overturn Roe. So we must focus on the sole means left for protecting unborn Americans: a constitutional amendment defining them as persons. Brent Bozell of Triumph magazine argued back in 1973 that we needed to do the long, slow, thankless work needed to push such an amendment through the Congress and the states. It is time we finally get started on that work.

“Precisely because it’s detached from economic issues, this amendment would gain support (as the personhood initiatives have) from demographic groups who for simple, tribal reasons (like Boston Irish) will never vote Republican. We saw that the amendment defending traditional marriage did well with minority voters in California."

What do we do now?

For starters we have the grace of the Year of Faith.
Lift up your hearts. Save yourself and others.

From Fr. Z's blog:

The last couple days have prompted me to reflect on the Church’s primary job: to keep as many people out of hell as possible.
People will chose to sin, die in sin, no matter what we do to help them to a different course. We must strive to help save ourselves and as many others as possible.

From Matthew Archbold's blog:

Abortion, marriage, and defending life at all stages. Those are the battles that we are fighting right now. Those are the battles that need to be fought now. As Christians, we have promised to fight, we have not been promised a victory here. And while things may seem hopeless at times, it is because we're putting hope in the wrong things. Tolkien wrote: “I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” Defending the unborn and defending traditional marriage are things I'm glad to fight for. And when I die I think I'll feel glad of my efforts.

And on January 25, 2013 we have the March for Life. Join us!

Obamcare

Daniel Foster at NRO writes about what's next:
I was always among those who thought the goose was cooked on Obamacare after Chief Justice Roberts’ gymnastics. But there is still some hope of fighting a rearguard action. Consider three stories out today.
1) Republicans have become the first party in 12 years to hold 30 governorships, having taken North Carolina for the first time in 20 years. They also hold 26 state legislatures.
2) Much of Obamacare’s implementation still relies on the action of said governors and said state legislatures. (Though folks quoted in the story speculate that a lot of hesitant red states will have been chastened by yesterday and come around).
3) But not Missouri, not yet. Missouri has passed a ballot measure forbidding the governor from creating Obamacare exchanges unless enacted by state law, which under current conditions means that there simply won’t be a state exchange.

Ditto

Go Vote!

And start reading Jill Stanek's blog. We "ditto" her prayer posted today:

Dear God,
Please have mercy on us. We don’t deserve it. But please help us. Please stop the angel of death who currently occupies the White House, who supports the unfettered murders of little babies made in Your image, and who shows contempt for your first chosen people, Israel.
That said, whatever outcome of the election You decide today I accept is the best decision, according to Your plan. I trust You. I love you.

It's the End of the World As We Know It

A little R.E.M. tune is running through our minds this Sunday, when we read these stories in the NY Post:

Columnist Michael Vaccaro says Mary Wittenberg, NYRR president deserves to be fired for blaming the media for common-decent canceling of the NYC Marathon.
Blame the media? Please. I wish the media could take the credit for making a fool like Wittenberg understand how wrong it was to pursue running this race. The media? It was a public outcry, an opinion raging in the name of common sense and common decency — and flying in the face of the arrogance embodied by the NYRR.
And this story about Nanny Bloomberg's unannounced visit to the Rockaways:
Public Advocate Bill de Blasio added, “We have never seen anything like this in our lives. It’s a kind of destruction you think happens in other parts of the world but not here. This is definitely one of the hardest hit areas in the whole city. It’s like civilization has come undone.”
Yes my friend, civilization has been coming undone in New York City for awhile now. Culture of Death 101 means people = things. People as mere objects.

In fact, NYC has been objectifying people since it legalized abortion in 1970.

Oh wait, the City's been objectifying people since 1916 when Margaret Sanger opened her first birth control clinic at 46 Amboy Street, Brooklyn.

No wait. Let's ask freed slave Venerable Pierre Toussaint, the only lay person interred at St. Patrick's Cathedral in NY.

Repeal Obamacare

Neil Stevens at Red State tells us how to do it:

If we want to defeat Obamacare, it is critical that we elect Republicans to as many Senate seats as we can. The sad fact is that we can’t just get 50 and hope to win on a reconciliation tiebreak vote cast by Paul Ryan. You never know if the Democrats might find an anti-TEA party Republican who oppose the will of the voters and come to the other side. So we need to elect as many Republicans as we can.
That means no Republican left behind. George AllenTommy ThompsonConnie MackJosh Mandel,Tom Smith, and yes, Todd Akin are six key anti-Obamacare votes we need to elect, along with of courseMitt Romney.

Through Wind and Waves UPDATED

Quite the battle going on as we count down to election day...the decision that will lead us out of the 40 Years of Wandering in the Culture of Death Desert... or not.

As we keep all people effected by Hurricane Sandy in our prayers, please remember Barbara Curtis, the  great photo-blogger of the annual March for Life in Washington DC. Barbara (mother of 12) has suffered a massive stroke and is not expected to regain consciousness.

UPDATE - Barbara Curtis passed away on the afternoon of October 30th, 2012. Please pray for the repose of the soul of this courageous Pro-Lifer.

And some thoughts on the "desert," Hurricane Sandy, and the Year of Faith by blogger Fr. Bob Connor:

What does a hurricane have to do with the Year of Faith? Everything! And this because the event of the hurricane awakens us from the boredom and monotony of quotidian boilerplate work- performance punctuated by the trivial titillation of interconnected pseudo interpersonalism via hand-held gagetry -  to a sudden discovery of the persons around you with whom you find that you really have something in common: a hurricane.
The Year of Faith has been called to shake us out of the acedia that has numbed us into being accustomed to the absence of Jesus Christ in this parched eschatological desert that stretches from the Ascension to the Parousia without a blip of intimacy with Him. Cardinal Ratzinger once asked: “However did we arrive at that tedious and tedium-laden Christianity which we moderns observe and, indeed, know from our own experience?[1] Ultimately we have lost the experience of Christ, the personal intimacy with Him, the internal reception of Him as Our Lady at the Annunciation. This must be regained.

The Next 40 Years

If you were thinking about sitting out this election because you don't think Romney passes the Pro-Life litmus test, think again.
Romney’s top judicial advisors include pro-life stalwarts like former Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork and pro-life Harvard professor Mary Ann Glendon. Leading pro-life attorneys like Jordan SekulowDavid French, and James Bopp have confirmed they trust Romney as president when it comes to judges.
Cathi Herrod, the director of the pro-life Center for Arizona Policy, says the upcoming election is crucial when it comes to the Supreme Court.
With four judges over the average age of retirement, the next President of the United States may be faced with appointing as many as four new justices to the Supreme Court,” she said. “There’s no denying it – our next President and United States Senate could dramatically alter the course of our nation.”

Whole story here.

January 22, 2013 marks the 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Reverse Derecho and Acts of God

Just saying that it's kind of interesting that Hurricane Sandy is sort of the Reverse Derecho inflicted on the US from Chicago to NY right after the June 2012 Supreme Court ruling in favor of Obamacare. As they say in show business, timing is everything.

Going All In on Abortion

The Democrats are betting it all on abortion this election.

Politico reports "Dems Go All In For Abortion Rights"

Newsbusters reports that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are leading the celebrity abortion crusade. They are joined by,

"Meryl Streep, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Sandra Bernhard, Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick, Lisa Kudrow, Tea Leoni, Audra McDonald, Martha Plimpton, Oliver Platt, Ally Sheedy, and Billy Crudup."

So just a quick reminder from Archbishop Chaput that Catholic teaching trumps party loyalty on abortion.

It's Biblical!

So says Henry Margusity, senior meteorologist with AccuWeather, when talking about Hurricane Sandy. He states:

“This could be a disaster of biblical proportions — a multi-billion-dollar disaster.”
We agree. Interesting timing, no? First, the Derecho that hit the Mid-Atlantic (actually Chicago to the Atlantic) right after the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Obamacare, and now Perfect Storm Sandy, a Hurricane within a Nor'Easter, looks to hit the Mid-Atlantic right before the November 6th, General Election.
We remind you of what Tom Grenchik wrote regarding the 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade:
In 2013 our country will observe a sad anniversary, marking 40 years of a “culture of death” following the tragic Roe v. Wade decision that unleashed widespread abortion on our land. Well over 53 million children have been lost and their parents and families dramatically affected. How do we even begin to fathom the impact to our nation, and to our Church?
A long time ago, God allowed the Israelites to wander in the wilderness for forty years -- as a punishment, and also as a test of their faithfulness before they could enter the promised land. These last forty years have certainly tested our faithfulness.
-Forty Years of Abortion and the Year of Faith, Tom Grenchik
There are forces that don't want the American to leave the wilderness, so it might be a rough weekend for some folks on the Atlantic, be prepared. Here are some helpful prep tips.

American Notebook has some thoughts about the Second Presidential Debate.

Phyllis Schlafly has a new book No Higher Power: Obama's War on Religious Freedom. Interview with Phyllis here.

Cecile Richards, the President of Planned Parenthood, did you know she was the daughter of the late Texas Governor Ann Richards? We didn't until we read this in the Houston Chronicle:
President Barack Obama is “the best friend to women that we could imagine,” said Planned Parenthood’s President Cecile Richards today as she introduced him before his speech in Fairfax, Va.
As the two parties fight to gain the support of female voters, Richards, the daughter of the late Texas Gov. Ann Richards, has become a prominent surrogate for the Democratic incumbent in swing states such as Virginia and Florida.
Guess that explains everything, doesn't it. Hey, did you know that Cecile makes over 400K? We found that out while Connecting the Dots. You can too, so here it is again for your reading pleasure:

Sorry folks, been meaning to write but caught up...well...connecting the dots. So let's begin, shall we. It all started with this post from Instapundit, Glenn Reynolds:
I SUSPECT THE PROLIFERATION OF HORMONAL BIRTH CONTROL IS INVOLVED: More Young People Suffering Strokes. Posted at 7:06 am by Glenn Reynolds
We couldn't agree more. Birth Control is linked to strokes. Interesting tidbit, a few year's ago Glenn's wife, the PJMedia contributor Dr. Helen, suffered a heart attack which they believe might have been birth control induced (see her comments from this post).
I also, was on birth control pills and wonder if they played a role in my getting a blood clot. Doctors like to think they are safe and get annoyed if you say otherwise, but I think for some women, they are dangerous.
So it's a good time to remind everyone that the World Health Organization (WHO) has classified oral contraception as a Type I or Class 1 Carcinogen. You know, like cigarettes...or asbestos or arsenic or benzene.*

And all this was in our minds when we recently ran across this from from a different "Dr. Helen", law professor Helen Alvare, who wrote in the Washington Examiner:
Women who want contraceptives at a lower cost may think that their freedom is growing. What they may not realize is that supporters of the mandate are avowedly trying to change their behavior -- to move women from their current methods of contraception to more expensive "long-acting reversible contraceptives" like the IUD and implant, which work for years and can only be removed by a doctor. About 5 percent of women use them today, but in a recent study, researchers offered all methods for "free" but persuaded about 75 percent of a cohort of women to get LARCs inserted. This study, which proves that medical professionals can badger women into long-term sterility, is being hailed as a paradigm for the contraceptive mandate.
So not only under Obamacare will contraception be "free" (i.e. the Government wants all women to have free access to Class 1 Carcinogens...just like Mayor Bloomberg is proposing), but the government is going to start promoting sterilization. Seems like theOne Who Will Save Women, wants to save them from ever having children. So, so...like the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger.**

Anyhow, this all came full circle for us when we starting thinking about how not only does the Government want to control your fertility it wants to control how you die.

Breitbart recently had a piece about Stephen Rattner a former Obama advisor who wrote a NYTimes op-ed about the need for "death panels"/rationed health care.

Want to know what "Death Panels" [in the UK they are known as CARE Pathways] look like in practice? Read these two pieces from the Daily Mail, which has been chronicling the decline and fall of Great Britain:

Care? No, this is a pathway to killing people that doctors deem worthless
By MELANIE PHILLIPS
One woman's lonely death on the NHS's 'care pathway' to the grave: MPs demand action after another patient is chosen to die without doctors telling family

But don't worry, they don't want to plunge a knife in you or anything like that, they probably just want to sedate you to death [which is assisted suicide, by the way, in case you forgot that's murder according to the ol' Seventh Commandment].

And you know, of course, what they're now doing in Belgium with assisted suicide patients? They're now harvesting their organs. Something for everyone.

Full circle. This is what four more years of "Hope and Change" will look like. And if people tell you otherwise it's just malarkey.

Dare we say it? Vote for Mitt Romney and vote to create a Republican majority in the Senate.

*Dr. Joel Brind reminds us that "hormonal contraceptives" is a misnomer, they are in fact steroids.
And the reason I put “hormonal contraceptives” in quotes is that it is not true. The pill contains no hormones – artificial or otherwise. They are steroid drugs that act like hormones (hormone agonists, to be professionally precise). In fact, hormones would not work as a pill, so they have to be synthetic drugs. In fact, they are really the same type of steroid drugs that professional athletes can go to jail for taking. They are just the female version (which makes the breasts grow), rather than the male version (which makes muscles grow).
** Hey, did you know that current Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards, salary is 400K? As in $400,000 dollars. Does that make her part of the 1%? Whatever, Cecile says not to worry it's not taxpayer money. Oh, okay then.

Weekend Reads

Fun over at Fausta's Blog, "Where Will We Move if Romney Becomes President."
BTW keep up with Fausta to learn how Chavez stole the election.

Catholic Bishops react to Biden misrepresenting the HHS Mandate at the VP Debate.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement responding to what it called an “inaccurate statement of fact on the HHS mandate” on Biden’s part.

Becket Fund with the round-up of Biden's remarks debunked. And while you're there, why not a little donation to their good work.

Biden lies, babies die

Wesley Smith at NRO has the comment of the night (VP Debate Night, that is). His headline reads,"Biden's Clintonian Whopper on Obamacare." Here's what he wrote:

Biden told a whopper tonight about whether Catholic institutions, like universities and charities, have to pay for free birth control under Obamacare’s Free Birth Control Rule. Recall that that the administration put off the effective date as to those groups until 2013, after the election. So, technically, in the present tense, they don’t have to pay for birth control and sterilizations. But they will next year.
Very Clintonian, as when Clinton told Jim Lehrer there “is no sexual relationship” with Monica Lewinsky. That was true technically because the relationship was in the past, but it was lying through the use of grammar. Same with Biden.

Someone doesn't like Obamacare

And it's Camille Paglia. From her interview to Salon:
My third reason for going Green is the creeping totalitarianism of Obamacare, which Jill Stein as a physician is rightly skeptical about. I began denouncing the Obamacare bill in my Salon column within two months after Obama’s inauguration. And I was also criticizing the President’s imprisonment within an insular circle of advisors who were not of sufficient quality and experience as administrators or strategists to sustain his presidency. ...
But the childish naivete of so many supposedly well-educated liberals was shown by their complete failure to notice or remark on the most glaringly obvious deficiency in Obamacare: You cannot possibly expand medical coverage to millions of people without also expanding medical training and funding new clinics and hospitals. The total absence of that in the bill was ludicrous. And you still hear mush-minded liberals saying all the time in the media, “Oh, what about this nice provision or that?” When any of those things could have been easily dealt with by free-standing bills passed with bipartisan support.
The way liberals lay down flat to accept this massive, totalitarian takeover of the American medical system was shocking to me. ......
.......Wait a minute, hold it, no! Listen — a huge point I want to make is that the protest against the surveillance state has, with only a few exceptions, been mainly coming from the Right and not from the Left! Talk radio has been seething with this issue for years. A good example is talk-show host Mark Levin’s “Liberty and Tyranny,” which was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller three years ago and yet got very few mainstream reviews. Democrats have got to wake up! This is why the Republican Party has gained and why the Democratic Party is in disarray....

And the winner is...

Adult Stem Cells over Embryonic Stem Cells.

Looks like this is a  chickens have come home to roost moment, and the chickens have gone and won the Noble Prize. Hmm.. did that make sense? Anyhow, the MSM has tried and failed again to win everyone over to their cause that there are miracle cures to be had with embryonic stem cells. The future is squarely with adult cells.

The announcement of the prize contrasts the success achieved in using non-embryonic stem cells with the disappointing results from embryonic stem cells. The commission's statement noted that “recently GeronCorp., the world’s leading embryo-research company, announced it was closing down its stem-cell program.”

Read more here. And

British and Japanese researchers have been awarded this year's Nobel Prize for showing how to create embryonic stem cells without using human embryos in a genuinely promising line of research.
