What's For Dinner?

Pasta. Barilla Pasta.

UPI reports that Barilla pasta company will not use same-sex couples in ads
Barilla, who runs the company, the world's largest pasta maker, with his two brothers, went on to say that he supports gay marriage, but not same-sex couples who wish to adopt.
"I respect everyone who does what they want to do without bothering others. I'm also in favor of gay marriage. But not adoption in gay families," Barilla said. "As a father of multiple children, I believe it's very hard to raise kids in a same-sex couple"

Death on Wheels

Dramatic increase in euthanasia in the Netherlands.
One explanation for the steep rise of Dutch cases is the introduction last year of mobile euthanasia units allowing patients to be killed by volunatry lethal injection when family doctors refused.

Heal the Wounds

"It is useless to ask a seriously injured person if he has high cholesterol and about the level of his blood sugars! You have to heal his wounds. Then we can talk about everything else. Heal the wounds, heal the wounds.... And you have to start from the ground up." -Pope Francis

HHS, Vaccine Court, Death Panels and You -UPDATED

Here is how the US "Vaccine Injury Court" works

Hmm... the parents can not sue in civil court.
The Department of Health and Human Services OWNS the vaccine patents.
The Department of Health and Human Services issued the Mandate that requires employer insurance to cover contraceptives.
Oh, and let's not forget that HHS will be manning the Death Panels.

UPDATE:
Murder is never a solution. Never. But it is worth noting, as Anne Dachel has, that the Arizona mother who murdered her autistic son had a case in Vaccine Court. She had waited 8 years for a verdict. The article has since been "scrubbed" by the Daily Mail.

An Arizona mother killed her children, one of whom was autistic.  He was 13.  It seems she had a case in Vaccine "Court."

Daily Mail: "The doting mother sued the Secretary of Health and Human Services in 2004, alleging a vaccination gave her son autism, court records showed. The case was dismissed only last year.
"Citing a lack of medical records supporting Ms Edge's claim, and the lack of a valid medical opinion to further bolster it, Chief Special Master Patricia Campbell-Smith dismissed the suit for 'insufficient proof.'

"Ms Edge was awarded a judgment in the amount of $7,692 to settle legal fees owed for the suit. It is not clear if or when she ever received that money."

Notes from the Post-Decadent World

Required reading from Professor Victor Davis Hanson:

There are no large cultural stimuli to force Cyrus the Younger to question society’s classical norms. No struggle to win the vote for women and then blacks. No Verdun, with a million dead in the muck. No Great Depression, with rampant starvation.
Instead we live in a psychodramatic age of virtual oppression and feigned want, in which “Letter from Birmingham Jail” is updated with Oprah’s melodramatic account of being denied a closer look at a $38,000 Swiss handbag. Our version of D-Day is the question whether or not to lob a few cruise missiles at Bashar Assad to make Obama’s redlines red. Soup kitchens and five-cent apples have transmogrified into electronic EBT cards and Obamaphones. Where is the elemental inspiration, the existential need to tap popular anguish and turn it into revolutionary artistic expression?
